Letchworth project
City of Youth - 2026

Background:

This project during my masters was to create a product for the youth (adolescent age of 11-16) of Letchworth Garden City, to be exhibited in the Broadway Gallery. We had 3 weeks to complete research, ideate, refine, and create a prototype to be put on display and be tested by 2 groups of Letchworth youth.

My role:

Creating an interactive website for the quiz using Wix and JavaScript code designed for mobile and tablet, design and print A6 cards and A4 poster, and help set up the exhibition.

Outcome:

My product was a website, that was a personality style quiz, which resulted in telling the user which physical cards to turn over that had details of their personality traits and their related destination in Letchworth, accompanied with a poster that had instructions and a QR code. An iPad will be provided on the day we have youth coming in to do a workshop, but for the rest of its time in the exhibition users can scan the QR code and complete the quiz on their mobile device.

Creating a fantasy style, using woodcut illustrations to link to each personality type. I sectioned them as:

- The Realmhopper - the immersive type with a rabbit, whose destination is likely to be the Broadway cinema, or DVD/game store CEX, who love to explore digital worlds. (A lot of the youth attending the exhibition got this card, and were surprised how accurate their result was)

- The Trailblazer - the sporty type with a stag, whose destination is likely to be on sports grounds/fields/parks. A more social outdoorsy personality type

- The Puzzleborn - the strategic type with a raven, whose destination is likely to be in escape rooms, or at a games night.

- The Pagewalker - the quiet personality type with an owl, whose destination was likely to be David's Book/music shop or the library.
